Thus in a way we are almost forced to wear the gear that doesn't match our set.
Hey everyone,
I am posting in regards to something that bothered me a bit last season, and this season as well. For melee class sets in particular, and other classes to a lesser extent, you have an option as to what offset pieces you want to buy to complete your set. Talking about offsets, I mean the boots and belts in particular. Using Death Knights as an example, here are my two options for Ruthless boot options (s10 Elite version):
Ruthless Gladiator's Warboots of Alacrity
and
Ruthless Gladiator's Warboots of Cruelty
As you can see, the Warboots of Cruelty match the Death Knight set; however this season and last season as well, many Death Knights took/will take the Warboots of Alacrity which matched the Warrior set, simply because Haste is a more valuable stat to a pvp Death Knight than crit is. Thus in a way we are almost forced to wear the gear that doesn't match our set.
We are in the same position for pvp belts as well. For example, last season I took the Warrior skinned belt rather than the Death Knight one simply because again, mastery was a more valuable stat than crit to a Death Knight.
That isn't the only issue with belts however, for melee as well as every other class; there isn't an option to get a 2200 skinned version of any belt; thus making our belts the only off color piece of armor in our sets often times.
For any GM who may read this, here are some suggestions as to fix the problem:
Make there be more boot/belt options for Death Knights, Warriors, and Ret Paladins; perhaps one of each model that gives either crit or haste on the boots, for example.
